Director & Writer
My name is Mario Ghabali, and I grew up in Lebanon, where I wrote and directed my first short film, Puncture, during my studies at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA). After graduating, I worked across different departments on numerous film sets, gaining hands-on experience and a solid understanding of the craft.
In 2022, I moved to Paris to pursue a master’s degree in directing and screenwriting at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. During this time, I directed a short film for the Centre Pompidou’s prestigious Hors Pistes festival and later independently produced and directed Far From It, for which I had the privilege of working with Darina Al Joundi. The film was screened at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market, selected in numerous festivals worldwide, and received multiple awards.
I am now based in Paris, where I am developing my next short film, Maybe One Day, in collaboration with Jazra Productions. At the same time, I am writing my first feature film and am currently seeking a French producer to bring this project to life.
